ABATE of MN Statement Concerning Covid 19 and Our Organization

From:  Jane Doyle, and the A.B.A.T.E. of Minnesota Executive Committee

To:  A.B.A.T.E. of Minnesota members:

A.B.A.T.E. of Minnesota is very concerned about the health and safety of our members. Our organization is built upon the great interaction of our members and our public outreach of motorcycling rights and common sense safety. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, you may see many postponements of our events to a later date.

The A.B.A.T.E. of Minnesota Executive Committee recommends that all April meetings be cancelled.

Below is information on A.B.A.T.E. University and other A.B.A.T.E. of Minnesota issues.

A.B.A.T.E. U is postponed.

A.B.A.T.E. U Raffle Drawing will be postponed - you may continue to sell tickets.

A.B.A.T.E. U Auction and Trike Races will be postponed.

Road Guard Class is cancelled until further notice.

Conceal and Carry class is cancelled until further notice.

Tentatively, we will try to incorporate A.B.A.T.E. U activities into the

July Board of Directors Meeting.

The District Directors will be in contact with the Chapter Presidents concerning voting, annual budget approval, Buddy Bear delivery, and Dial-a-Ride materials. Please contact your Chapter President for answers, but allow them some time to talk to the District Directors.

New Officers:

Contact your current Chapter President or Chapter Representative, they can help you understand the pages in the manual regarding your position.  Other officers in your chapter, or the District Director should be able to help you understand your responsibilities.  We will provide group training as soon as we can re-schedule classes.

We are working on a plan to distribute new pages for our manuals.

These are uncharted territories for all of us.  Please be patient, we are working diligently to provide a viable plan that will work for everyone.  We are a strong group, and together we'll get through this. Thank you for your patience.  We will provide updates when we have new information. And please remember, this too will pass. Until it does, be positive.

In the meantime, the government experts are suggesting that we avoid crowds, not use public transportation, be in well ventilated areas, wear gloves, and stay positive.  It is almost like they are asking us to ride our motorcycles!
